Biosketch

Dr. Carlo Antozzi has a long-lasting experience in the field of Neuroimmunology and Neuromuscular Disorders with a particular interest in the field of Myasthenia Gravis and disorders of the neuromuscular junction, and autoimmune disorders of the nervous system including multiple sclerosis.

His scientific training included a period of specialization at the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel) working on the induction of tolerance to the acetylcholine receptor in the animal model of myasthenia gravis in rats; scientific production consists of 128 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Antozzi is part of the staff of the Neuroimmunology and Neuromuscular Diseases Unit of the Neurological Institute Foundation “Carlo Besta” of Milan. The unit is focused on the diagnosis, treatment and research of immune-mediated neurological diseases and on neuromuscular disorders.

Dr. Antozzi is also head of the “Immunotherapy and Therapeutic Apheresis Unit” of  the Neurological Institute Foundation, and participates in clinical trials in multiple sclerosis and myasthenia gravis.
